Survivor Mud Run

Survivor Mud Run definition:  . . . to test your ability to run, climb, jump, crawl, & muscle your way through the most extreme 5k Mud Run Created! As a Survivor you will have to conquer whatever obstacles get in your way and test your all around toughness, strength, stamina, fitness, and mental determination. 

I thought it was a joke when Frank asked me to do the Survivor Mud Run with him. Really? Does he realize how out of shape I am?

 So, here they are..........the Survivor Mud Run Trio.

'11 Memorial Road Trip

Usually, we spend our Memorial weekend in Coos Bay, but with this unpredictable weather we decided to venture down through Oregon and California.

Eighty Three

On May 18th my grandpa turned 83 years old. My goodness has this man lived an incredible life. 

 Like always its nice getting together with the family.  

Food, Family and Gifts.......what more could one ask for.     

Where oh where has this year gone?

Not that I am counting, but there is less than a month of school left. Woohoo! When I first started in December it felt like the year was dragging on. Now I am wondering where May has gone? 

The end of the year will definitely be a bitter sweet feeling. I am so proud of myself for coming into the middle of the year and accomplishing so much. On the other hand, having my own class is coming to an end, as it is likely I wont have a job next year. 

 (Pray through these tough economic times a job opens and I can squeeze right in.)

On the positive side of things..........

One of the best things about being a teacher is the amazing sale notifications I receive all the time. Scholastic, which is my all time favorite "teacher store" was holding their warehouse sale. A sale I look forward to every time! Look at all of these AMAZING books I purchased anywhere from 50-80% off.  

Looking at this picture reminds me of all the time and money I have spent on my classroom. Wouldn't change a thing about that though!

Hopefully, my next post, whenever that may be, will be good news about a job!



Multnomah Falls

Frank has been on this kick (what's new if you know him well) to mountain climb. He has been running up to twice a day and has been finding "hot deals" on Craigslist for mountain climbing gear.  He had to sell his kayak stuff in order to afford any of this gear.  Long story short, he found a deal on a tent so off we went to Portland, OR.

 I figured we should make more out of the trip then a tent, so we decided to head farther East to Multnomah Falls just outside Portland.

I will have to admit this was a GREAT way to end my Spring Break!

Joining us was Collin and Ariel.....we hope they enjoyed the trip as much as we did. :)

          

Although, Frank and I have been here before, the falls amaze us every time.

What I love most is that fact that you can hike all the way to the top of the falls.

FYI: Multnomah falls is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and the 2nd tallest year-round waterfall in the U.S.
